It has been a year since I made the decision to change the way I was doing life. I had spent the last 24 years in retail management and worked for three different companies over that period of time.

Last month kicked off my first showing as the artist-in-residence for the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville. It’s been an amazing experience to have the opportunity to express the orchestra’s rich performances through visual art.

I am the artist-in-residence for the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville this season. I paint to music, and my mission was to translate Camille Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 “Organ Symphony.”

Our lives in Florida were interrupted by Hurricane Irma last week and everything was put on hold to prepare for survival…and then there was the cleanup.

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as the Artist-in-Residence by the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville for their 2017-2018 season.

Summer has been my favorite season ever since I can remember. As the youngest child of four, play was a big part of my life.

In my last post, I talked about intentionally recreating the woods that form a backdrop for a field of flowers at Down to Earth Farm. While the background dried, I contemplated my next step.

A couple of weeks ago, I strolled through my garden to collect colors for my next painting and displayed live plants in a vase in my studio.
