Swinging Back into Action

Life moves in a circular fashion, and Covid surely has kept me in a more quiet state at home. Although I have appeared to be MIA, I have been working!

Throughout the past year, I have explored drawing with micron ink pens, producing black and white geometric works. This activity has made me feel grounded, as if I have control over something. I’ve created over 15 drawings and am continuing to produce more. My black and whites are a divergence from my abstract paintings, which use the other side of my brain and are much more physical. I listen to music while I paint and am excited to be working with that side of my art again.

Prior to the pandemic, I had the opportunity to show my work at some fun events and meet many wonderful people. When one of my paintings sells and goes to a new home or to someone’s place of business, it feels like a part of me goes with them. And that feels good! I hung my most recent commission this past month in Atlanta, GA. There are others here in Jacksonville as well as in Gainesville, Fort Lauderdale, and Ponte Vedra Beach. There are even paintings in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, New York, and Australia!

I have such a sense of gratitude for those who have taken the time to come to my events, follow me on social media, visit my website, and purchase my paintings. Please take the time to check out at my new website, gifted to me by my daughter Melissa Gopp-Warner. The site was designed by Christina Ramey, and I enjoyed a photography session with Sharon Brisken Photography for the updated photos. Melissa spent days moving my old website information to the new site and then gave me a tutorial to fly on my own.

I love creating art and am pleased with the choices I have made to get here. I am excited about my path as I learn to create in new ways. Thank you for your encouragement and support as I journey on.
